Account and Data Deletion
This page explains how users can delete a Bacon and Brew account and the app data associated with that account.
Account Creation Method
Bacon and Brew uses anonymous authentication via Firebase Auth. No email address, phone number, password, or user-entered username is required. A unique anonymous user ID is generated automatically on first launch so the app can store check-ins, ratings, badges, and uploaded venue photos.
Self-Service Deletion in the App
If you still have access to the app, open Profile, choose Delete account, and confirm the deletion. This calls Bacon and Brew's authenticated account deletion endpoint for your current anonymous app account.
Request Deletion by Email
If you cannot access the app, email platform@zeroadmin.co.za with the subject Bacon and Brew account deletion request. Include any information that may help us identify the anonymous app account, such as the device used, approximate account creation date, recent venues checked in to, or uploaded venue photos.
We will respond within 30 days. Where we can match the request to an app account, we delete the associated personal data within 24 hours of confirming the request.
What Is Deleted
- User record and anonymous app identity stored by Bacon and Brew.
- Check-ins, ratings, public visit tags, badge events, trust events, and venue reports linked to the account.
- Personal attribution on uploaded venue photos.
What May Be Retained
Aggregate venue statistics, such as total check-in counts and average ratings, may be retained without personal attribution. Venue photos may be retained for venue integrity, but account attribution is removed. Business claim contact details are handled separately because they relate to venue ownership verification rather than the anonymous app account.
Partial Data Deletion
Bacon and Brew does not currently provide a separate self-service flow for deleting selected data while keeping the account active. Account deletion removes the data associated with the account as described above.
